Contemporary fashion and functionality go hand-in-hand in the new Fiskars by Maria Korkeila capsule collection, featuring modern garden wear staples rooted in the Nordic design heritage of Fiskars.

The unisex workwear-meets-streetwear collection features 11 must-have styles, ranging from modular clothing to multi-functional bags and accessories. The versatile pieces include a jacket with stab-proof pockets and a detachable hem, hood and sleeves, and a tool belt that can be converted into a modern waist bag, giving a whole new meaning to urban garden wear.

Crafted from organic and recycled materials and vegan leather, the collection showcases bold, nature-inspired prints in a down-to-earth colour scheme. All the pieces have been made by socially responsible suppliers, which also played a big part in bringing the collection to life.

The Fiskars by Maria Korkeila collection premiered in Florence, Italy in January 2019 as part of the official Pitti Uomo programme and the Palazzo Finlandese event series launched in 2019 by Juni Communications and SSAW Magazine.

“All Fiskars products are modern by way of tradition, like the iconic Fiskars orange-handled scissors. This is the design DNA I wanted to bring into the capsule collection as well.”

Since 1649, Fiskars has been guided by the ageless principles of high quality, functionality and sustainable design. Today we are one of the leading gardening and cookware brands in the world, inspiring a more creative everyday.

The up-and-coming Finnish designer Maria Korkeila reimagines handcrafted punk aesthetics: following traditions of deconstruction and DIY, Korkeila proposes a vision where rich textures, prints and colours meet deviance and sensitivity. Educated at Aalto University, finalist of Festival international de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères and winner of Chiapparelli prize in 2017, Korkeila now works as a fashion and textile designer in Paris and Helsinki.
